At the heart of the design lies the revolutionary Monocoque Body (MQ). This represents a significant leap forward in spinning reel construction by eliminating the traditional two-piece body design. MQ reels eschew side plates and employ a screwless body design. This effectively eliminates potential points of entry for water and debris while enhancing the overall strength and rigidity of the reel body.

The screwless design principle of MQ bodies also contributes to a more compact reel profile compared to standard body designs. Traditional reels require screws for assembly, necessitating additional material for gripping, resulting in a larger overall size and increased mass. By replacing the side plate with a precision-machined aluminium engine plate that screws directly into the reel body, MQ reels maximize the internal space available, allowing for larger drive gears to be utilized, and pushing the boundaries of performance like never before.

Daiwa BG MQ ARK reduces the friction of the Carbon ATD drag, so drag performance is unmatched by the competition.

Improved casting performance - another added feature due to the implementation of Long Cast ABS (LC-ABS) spool design. LC-ABS spool design improves line flow from the spool, for both heavy & light lines.
