About the Tanacom
Rarely does Daiwa introduce a new electric reel, and arguably, no name holds more renown in this category than TANACOM. The Daiwa 22 Tanacom 1200 is a project that has been in development for five years. Moreover, it represents a complete overhaul by Daiwa Japan engineers in collaboration with teams from Australia and America.
With a completely fresh design that incorporates a spool-housed motor, Daiwa engineers have successfully enhanced the efficiency of the already powerful motor found in the previous TANACOM 1000 model. Installed within this new framework, the motor now generates even greater power, thanks to a completely re-engineered drivetrain featuring sturdier gears and internal components, ensuring improved durability and minimal power loss.
In addition to increased power, the TANACOM 1200 boasts enhanced speed—a challenging feat to achieve, as a faster retrieve typically results in reduced torque, similar to how riding a bike uphill is easier in low gear than a high gear. The accelerated retrieve speed of the TANACOM 1200 proves advantageous when engaging in deep dropping, significantly speeding up the repositioning and bait-checking process. Furthermore, the new design brings about an expanded line capacity, with the TANACOM 1200 now accommodating PE8/1000m.
