Kosta was out on the water before first light and reports that the fish went off as soon as the sun came up. Silver whiting and garfish were the preferred baits on the day.

Despite having a slow start to the season, persistence has paid off for good customer Heath O'Sullivan who landed his first snapper for the season.

Heath was fishing off Carrum in 19 meters and caught the fish using a fresh silver whiting.

Well done mate!

Regular customer Steve Morris bagged a couple of absolute cracking fish out off Clifton Springs in 10meters of water last week.

Customers, Brent and Mark Bredin had a cracker of a session out of Corinella last week in 7 meters of water with fish to 6.4kg been landed.

The boys fished the early morning period and found that fresh squid along with pilchards were the preferred baits.

King George!

The whiting reports have started to flow through as the weather warms up in both bays!

A maiden whiting charter has proven successful for the boys at VSF charters and they caught some awesome fish from the southern end of Port Phillip Bay.

Young-gun and very keen angler, Zac caught this cracker of a whiting up around Joes Island whilst fishing for snapper!

This fish was taken on a pipi and squid-strip cocktail bait in 10 meters of water.

Landbased squid!

Staff member Kozi and Mitch Chapman from EJ Todd were in for a masterclass lesson in squid fishing by Yamashita Pro-staff member, Eisuke Kawakami.
After a tough start with a stiff southerly wind blowing, the boys found themselves in amongst a hot patch of squid as there were multiple, two and three-way hook ups.
The Yamashita Egi Live Search jigs in colours, B04, R01 and 490glow Search jig in B09 and B07 were the stand out jigs for the day.

Fresh Water!

With the weather warming up, the redfin out of the local dams and lakes have started to come out of hibernation!

Good customer Jordan and Dan caught some solid redfin last weekend using the Z-man Slim Swimz soft plastics in the bloodworm colour.

This is also Jordan's PB redfin measuring in at 43cm.

Regular customer Daniel Griffin is making the most of the recent fish stocking into the Devil Bend Reservoir which took place last week.

Fisheries have stocked the lake with 180 brown trout to 5lbs, to boost the fishing experience of this fast growing fishery.

This fish was taken on a 8gram Nories Wasabi Metal lure.

Customers Alex and Fred fished up at lake Toolondo for a boys weekend away and caught some lovely trout and redfin.

The boys caught the majority of their fish on mudeyes under bubble floats and on the troll using pink Tassie devils.

The boys also report that the water level is up and there's plenty of water to explore!
